With its spectacular views over the city of St. John's, the
harbour and out over whales and icebergs into the Atlantic.
Signal Hill lies on the north side of the mouth to the St.
John's harbour and is the site of the 1762 battle where the
French were defeated by the British and also where Marconi
received the first transatlantic message in 1901.
