Taking the famous Trans Canadian VIA Rail Canada train “The
Canadian” from Sudbury to Winnipeg in Manitoba.
Crossing Northern Ontario, it took over 22 hours just to
leave the province. The train left the warm summer climate
of Sudbury, headed through the bush and deepening snow to
Sioux Lookout. Entering the Prairies the bush disappeared
rapidly leaving only grasslands and fields. The snow disappeared
too and the warmer weather returned.
The whole journey took about 26 hours. |
